A datacenter, built from zero.
A national retailer needed its own Tier-III datacenter — sited, designed, built, and commissioned — from a blank brief to first production workload in under a year.
The challenge
Northwind Retail had outgrown colocation and decided to bring core infrastructure in-house. They needed a 240-rack Tier-III facility, but had no internal datacenter design capability and an aggressive timeline tied to a lease decision.
Getting it wrong meant either over-building (stranded capital) or under-building (a facility obsolete on day one).
Our approach
We led site selection against power, connectivity, and risk criteria, then designed the electrical, mechanical, and structured-cabling systems to Tier-III standards — sized for day-one load with a credible, modular growth path.
We managed the build and ran full commissioning, proving every redundancy scenario before a single production workload arrived.
The outcome
The 240-rack facility went from initial brief to first production workload in eleven months, certified to Tier III and commissioned with documented proof of every failover path.
Northwind now owns a facility matched to real demand, with headroom to grow without rebuilding.
